In the first half of this year, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad increased by 16.3% compared to the same period last year and reached 791,700 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who went to Russia and Georgia increased by 1.8 times and 34.5%, respectively, and to Iran and Türkiye decreased by 31% and 1.9%.
Some 40.2% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 23.9% - the Russian Federation, 9.4% - Georgia, 7.9% - Iran, and 18.6% - other countries. 68.3% of those were men, and 31.7% were women.
67.3% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries by air, 29.9% by rail and car, and 2.8% by sea.
