Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities were showcased at the Tourism Expo Japan 2024 held in Tokyo, on September 26-29, Report informs, citing the State Tourism Agency.
The purpose of participation in the exhibition is to strengthen the exchange of experience and information in the field of tourism product promotion, mutual promotion and communication between tourism experts, as well as to form cooperation ties in supporting tourism agencies and other issues.
Exhibition participants were informed about Azerbaijan's cultural, nature, health, business tourism opportunities, as well as its winemaking tradition and gastronomy.
Meetings were organized between representatives of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and local partners with the Japan Association of Travel Agencies and well-known Japanese tourism agencies, and ideas were exchanged about cooperation opportunities.
Azerbaijan's ambassador to Japan, Gursel Ismayilzada, visited the national stand at the exhibition.
The number of visitors from Japan to Azerbaijan in January-August 2024 increased by more than 60% year-on-year.
