Poland's Health Ministry introduces additional border rules amid omicron fears, Report informs, citing Polish media. The changes will come into force on December 15.
Travelers from countries not in the Schengen zone must have a negative result of a COVID-19 test done not earlier than 24 hours before crossing the border.
Poland toughened quarantine measures from December 1 until December 17. In particular, the government decided to halt air communication with seven African states, including Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and the South African Republic.
Those arriving in Poland must pass the 14-day quarantine.
The country's Ministry of Health said the restrictions do not apply to
- people with full vaccination (with 14 days passed since the last dose) in the presence of an EU digital certificate or other documents in the Polish or English language;
- people who had COVID-19 no earlier than six months before crossing the border;
- people with a negative COVID-19 test result, confirmed by the European digital COVID certificate or other documents in the Polish or English language;
- children below 12 years of age, traveling with adults, vaccinated against COVID-19 or having a negative COVID-19 test result;
- people from categories falling below other exemptions.
