The tourism potential of Aghdam is wide, and in accordance with the general plan of the city, business tourism opportunities are being assessed, Kanan Guluzada, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency (SAT), told Report, in a comment on the participation of the head of state in laying the foundation of the Park Forest Hotel Agdam during his visit to Agdam and the possibility of maximizing the tourism potential of the region.

“Undoubtedly, the territories of Azerbaijan, liberated from occupation, have a wide tourism potential, and the creation of tourism infrastructure is a necessity for using this potential,” Kanan Guluzada said.

According to him, tourism routes, tourism products, tourism infrastructure, etc. will appear in the territories liberated from occupation: “There is a huge interest in evaluating these areas as tourism destinations. We also see great interest in our presentations abroad. This includes the use of tourism potential, the creation of new jobs, and the implementation of similar projects.”

K. Guluzada believes that the ongoing work is the first step of a big plan: “You already know that hotels have been built and put into operation in the liberated Shusha. The laying of the foundation of the hotel took place in Aghdam. Of course, hotels will be built in other regions with the involvement of public and private investments. Among other things, accommodation facilities will be built both in places with high tourist potential and in logistics centers. This is an ongoing process. We are now at the beginning of this journey. Such hotels are planned to be built in accordance with the master plans of cities and districts.”
