Construction of ski eco town worth $190M begins in Kyrgyzstan

The first stage of construction of the ski eco town "Karkyra" has begun in the Tyup region of Kyrgyzstan, according to the press service of the presidential embassy in the Issyk-Kul region, Report informs referring to local media.

The head of the ski eco town, Konstantin Kutsenko, said that construction is divided into six stages.

“The concept of the project includes a wide range of services, the complex is designed for up to 5,000 vacationers. The estimated cost of the facility is $192 million. The total length of the ski slopes is 100.7 kilometers, and the length of the cable car is 20.7 kilometers,” he noted.

According to Kutsenko, in order to preserve the environment, advanced innovative technologies for heating and wastewater treatment will be used at the facility, which comply with the regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic and international standards (FIS).

On December 6 last year, President Sadyr Japarov laid the capsule for the construction of this facility.
