Azerbaijan's tourism representative office opens in Russia's Moscow

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board today opened its official representative office in Moscow, Russia, Report informs.

The event was attended by Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Rahman Mustafayev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Vyacheslav Manuylov, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow City Government, and other state officials, Emin Aghalarov, founder of Agalarov Development company, well-known businessman, as well as representatives of the tourism industry from Russia and Azerbaijan.

Fuad Naghiyev noted that the launch of the representative office marks a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation and will further strengthen tourism relations. The agency chairman stated that tourism relations, as part of economic ties between Azerbaijan and Russia, are based on a long history, and their development is mainly driven by the special attention given to this field by the heads of state.

During the event, views were also exchanged on the prospects of future cooperation in tourism between the two countries.

Tthe main purpose of opening the tourism representative office is to strengthen cooperation with the Russian tourism industry, promote Azerbaijan's tourism potential and products, and expand advertising in the Russian market.

The representative office will function to establish relations with tourism companies and government agencies, manage marketing and media campaigns, organize events, and work in cooperation with travel agencies and media.

Currently, Azerbaijan Airlines and Russian air carriers provide continuous air connection between the two countries with flights to various cities in Azerbaijan. From January through September 2024, the number of visitors to Azerbaijan from Russia reached 564,008, which is 18% more year-on-year.
