Azerbaijan’s ornithological tourism promoted at Global Bird Fair

Azerbaijan's ornithological tourism opportunities were showcased at the Global Bird Fair held in Rutland, the UK, Report informs, citing the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.

At the exhibition, information was provided on mountains and water basins with potential for birdwatching in Azerbaijan, rare bird species and favorable seasons for their observation, natural areas for ornithological tourism and biodiversity in national parks, as well as B2B format meetings were held.

The agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, in close cooperation with international experts and the Ornithological Society of Azerbaijan, have taken various actions on the development of ornithological tourism as an important direction of ecotourism, including preparing brochures and conducting training for guides specializing in ecotourism.

The Global Bird Fair, which brings together more than 60 countries, is held annually as an international event to promote ornithological tourism.
