Azerbaijan records over 30% surge in passenger air traffic from country

A total of 2,8929,977 passengers were transported by air from Azerbaijan in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a 30.5% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Tourism Agency.

During the reporting period, the passengers were transported to 41 countries in total, which is an increase of seven countries or 20.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

In 10 months, 778,664 passengers from Azerbaijan visited Russia (up 26.9%). Following Russia, Türkiye saw 740,651 passengers (up 16.1%), and the United Arab Emirates had 336,041 passengers (up 38.1%).

Other significant contributors included Georgia with 167,872 passengers (up 37.1%), Saudi Arabia with 97,790 passengers (up 8.4%), India with 88,345 passengers (up 4.2 times), Kazakhstan with 79,878 passengers (up 25.9%), Italy with 53,132 passengers (up 92.7%), Qatar with 51,879 passengers (up 94%), and Uzbekistan with 42,240 passengers (down 20%).

In October alone, 281,080 passengers traveled from Azerbaijan by air, a 22.6% increase compared to the same month last year. Specifically, the number of visitors to Russia increased by 23.4% year-on-year, reaching 83,888 people.
