Azerbaijan and Japan discuss development of relations in tourism

Azerbaijan and Japan discussed prospects for cooperation and opportunities for developing tourism ties.

Report informs citing the State Tourism Agency that the discussions took place during a meeting between the chairman of the agency, Fuad Naghiyev, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Azerbaijan, Katsui Watanabe.

The parties exchanged views on Azerbaijan's participation in the JATA Tourism Expo, which will be held in Osaka in September, and discussed the implementation of projects related to increasing awareness of the Japanese population about Azerbaijan.

It was proposed that the famous Japanese film director and screenwriter Fukuzawa Katsuo visit Azerbaijan in May, get acquainted with the sights of the country and prepare programs reflecting Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities.

The parties also emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects aimed at encouraging mutual tourist trips.
