Food prices rise sharply in Armenia

Rates for consumer goods such as dairy products, bakery products, and food products have risen in Armenia over the past three days, Report says, citing News.am.

In a conversation with the agency's employees, the city residents noted that the increase in costs is obvious.

"You have to be blind not to see it. Yogurt and butter have gone up by 10-15 drams, so what can we do? We have to live. Three days have passed, prices have risen even more," said a citizen.

"Necessary consumer goods: the flour, lavash, and butter. Weight decreased, the price remained the same; this is a hidden increase. The price of a kilogram of lavash grew by 29 drams," said another resident.

According to the agency, Armenian cities are already feeling the impact of raises on the family budget.

"Of course, we feel the result of the price jump on the house budget, I'm a pensioner, the same pension, but the exaggerated price," complained one of the pensioners.

A few days ago, some local experts predicted a rise in prices in the country.
