Baku. 26 September. REPORT.AZ/ "The political and financial support the California-based Armenians fervently devote to their poverty-smothered family-homeland is obvious to all," reads the article by Raoul Lowery-Contreras published on The Daily Caller.
"The most significant feature of modern Armenia is its continual loss of population as Armenians leave for Russia or Los Angeles in order to escape pervasive poverty. A steady stream of 100,000 or so Armenians leaves Armenia permanently every year. The country’s population has declined by 1.5 million people since 1991," the author of the article notes.
He believes that the second massive feature is political corruption as evidenced by wide-spread criminal charges being pressed by the new government of Armenia. The author voices regret that Armenian corruption has spread out from Yerevan to Los Angeles and, it appears, to California’s capital, Sacramento.
Raoul Lowery-Contreras reminds that four California state elected officials had just returned from a junket to Armenia. He assumed that they didn’t pay for the trip themselves and expressed the opinion that such 'useful fools' help spread Armenian corruption in California’s state capital.
The author of the article reminds that the United States recognizes the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and does not recognize an occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region as an independent state as it is proclaimed by occupying foreign Armenian forces.
According to the author, Armenia’s American lobby was able to hobble American help to Azerbaijan until President George W. Bush waived the blockage and helped Azerbaijan with formerly denied funds.
He believes that the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) which encourages corruption is to blame for the spread of the Armenian influence in US.
The author wonders if it is expedient for the United States to support a country that stands for mass terrorism, illegal military occpation and aggression.
