Armenia said detains army’s deputy chief of General Staff

Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lt-Gen Stepan Galstyan has been detained, Report informs, citing Hraparak newspaper.

According to the article, his house is currently being searched. It was stated that Galstyan was interrogated a few days ago as part of a criminal case into the acceptance of low-quality ammunition, into armament, which nearly cost $4.5 million the state.

On September 30, the Armenian National Security Service announced the arrest of former Defense Minister David Tonoyan and arms dealer David Galstyan, nicknamed Patron Davo.

David Tonoyan is being accused of large-scale embezzlement.
