Man suspected of plotting attack on synagogue arrested in Germany

In southwestern Germany, a young man was arrested on suspicion of plotting an attack on a synagogue, reads a joint statement of the public prosecutor's offices of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe and the criminal department of the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg, Report informs citing TASS.

According to the investigation, an 18-year-old German citizen of Turkish descent from the city of Weinheim (federal state of Baden-Württemberg) discussed with his acquaintance the plan to attack the visitors of the synagogue in Heidelberg with a knife.

On May 18, the suspect was remanded in custody. His apartment was searched. A 24-year-old man who discussed the attack plan with him was also arrested.
