American Pfizer vaccine causes allergic reaction

Peter Marks, a spokesman for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said five of the vaccines, developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech, had allergic reactions, Report informs, citing Interfax.

Such a reaction can be caused by polyethylene glycol in Pfizer and Moderna drugs (a multi-purpose polyethylene compound used in medicines' industrial production). Marks noted the FDA investigates allergies that emerged during vaccination.

It is not the first case reported after the use of FDA-approved vaccines. A medical worker who had previously been vaccinated by BioNTech and Pfizer in Alaska was hospitalized with a severe allergic reaction. According to the latest information, his condition is stable.
