On the night of January 20, 1990, a military machine of the former Soviet state has attacked Baku both through land and the sea and committed unprecedented brutality on January 20 night in 1990. As a result, 133 peaceful civilians were killed, 744 were injured and 841 were illegally arrested. There were underage, women, and elderly people among victims. The brutal terrorist act committed by the Soviet Army against the Azerbaijani people by the instruction of the USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev, was written in black letters to the history as one of the most serious crimes against humanity.
