General Kanan Seyidov: No force could prevent us from entering Shusha

During the Patriotic War, no force could prevent us from entering Shusha, the Hero of the Patriotic War, the commander of the Army unit, Major General Kanan Seyidov, told Report.

The general said that the military personnel first ensured control of the Shusha heights and then waited for an opportunity to enter the city:

"I was in the camp in Shusha in 1986. Years later, I participated in the operation to liberate Shusha from the occupation. During the battles, we were very excited when we saw Shusha after the fog dispersed. I will never forget those moments. Then we were sure that we would enter the city."

According to him, at that time, the Azerbaijani Army was ready to fulfill the assigned tasks, despite all the difficulties: "Shusha's relief is indeed rugged. This made our work much more difficult. But nothing, no force, could prevent us from entering Shusha and strengthening there."

"We felt a great sense of pride when we entered Shusha. It is impossible to express those feelings in words. Shusha was critical to us. Thank God that we fulfilled this sacred task," said the Hero of the Patriotic War.

During the Second Karabakh War, Seyidov was the first deputy commander of the Special Forces of the Ministry of Defense - chief of staff. By the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on November 20, 2020, Seyidov was promoted to the high military rank of major general.

Later, he was appointed the commander of the Army unit according to the relevant order of the President.
