"There is no state in the world whose army is prepared for peace. The task of the army is to be ready for war, but not peace," Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Colonel Vagif Dargahli told Report, commenting on the statement made by Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan that military-political leadership of Azerbaijan prepares its army for the peace.
"The function of the army is to be always ready for war, to protect independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity of the country, as well as to ensure security and defense."
"As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief said, if Armenia wants peace, the Armenian soldier must withdraw from the Azerbaijani lands unconditionally.
"The military-political leadership of Armenia should once again understand that only after liberating of our lands from occupation, our Army can think about peace. Under present conditions, the Azerbaijani Army is ready for war, but not war, "Colonel Dargahli said.
