US analyst: Opening of Fuzuli airport to integrate entire area

The opening of Fuzuli airport will integrate the entire area, US analyst, writer and columnist focusing on Russia and Eurasia Paul Goble told Report.

Restoring transportation links will reintegrate the area back into Azerbaijan, he said.

The most important fact about this is how fast Baku was able to do this, he noted. That shows that it has the resources to move quickly on such projects, unlike Armenia, Goble added.

“It is a model for what Baku can do elsewhere,” the analyst concluded.

Airbus A340-500 passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines made a test flight from Baku and landed at the first airport in liberated Karabakh on September 5. The flight time on the Baku-Fuzuli route was about 35 minutes.

Following President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, international airports are also being constructed in Lachin and Zangilan districts.
