"We understand that Azerbaijan must ensure its sovereignty and is adequately responding to threats to its territorial integrity," Svyatoslav Yuras, deputy of the ruling Servant of the People party of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, told Report.
He said that Ukraine has always taken up an open and clear position regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict: "Official Kyiv supports internationally recognized borders of the countries. Azerbaijan itself should determine its future. Therefore, we do not accept the change of borders because we see its consequences in our country. For example, Russia tried to occupy the entire Ukraine through the occupation of Crimea and Donbas. That is why we do not support the occupation of the territories of other countries, especially the states with which we passed through the terrible times of the Soviet Union."
Yuras stressed that the process of restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine has just begun: "We unequivocally condemn the threats against the borders of Azerbaijan, which has restored its territorial integrity."
