Ukrainian journalists view mine clearance work in Azerbaijan's Aghdam

A group of Ukrainian media representatives got acquainted with the demining of Azerbaijan’s liberated Aghdam district, Report informs.

Journalists from the 1+1 TV, Channel 5, the UNIAN news agency, Ukraine Now and Third Force online media outlets were briefed about mines and other explosive devices planted by Armenians in Aghdam and throughout the entire liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The wholly destroyed Aghdam and all its villages are the most mine-contaminated territory among the districts of Azerbaijan liberated as a result of the 44-day war.

Ukrainian journalists filmed footage of the work of sappers of the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the special equipment and technology they use.

The journalists saw mines and ammunition already removed from the ground and defused. They were also shown how the discovered mines are disposed of by detonation.

During the trip to the Aghdam district, the journalists visited the Alley of Martyrs of the First Karabakh War, or rather, what was left of it after the vandalism of the Armenians, who destroyed the graves and desecrated the remains of the fallen heroes.

Representatives of the Ukrainian media saw the ruins of the once flourishing city left by the Armenians after 30 years of occupation and also got acquainted with the restoration work carried out by Azerbaijan.

Earlier, the Ukrainian journalists visited the Fizuli, Jabrayil and Zangilan districts.
