Ukraine is going to hold an international conference to select the best demining technologies in the world, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov said in an interview with the Eastern Europe bureau of Report.
“Previously, I was discussing this in Brussels during my recent trip. They are ready to support the idea. They are very worried about this topic. We will definitely invite the Azerbaijani side to also participate in this conference so that we can maximally adopt all the world’s best experiences for carrying out humanitarian demining. Without this, it is impossible to build new cities, an airport, and a peasant, and a farmer won’t be able to cultivate his or her land,” he noted.
Reznikov added that he discussed with colleagues from the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) their request for training sappers in the Ukrainian centers: “I spoke with our emergency services, they cannot delegate instructors to Azerbaijan, because they are employed here in Ukraine. We also have the highest level of mine contamination of territories. But if the Azerbaijani cadets are ready to come, we are ready to organize a special training course for sapper skills and dog training for them. Because we have such experience. This is one of the types of assistance that is absolutely realistic. I am sure that the Azerbaijani side will have the same experience and the same expertise very quickly, because you are already doing this.”
