UK company RPS Energy Ltd. actively cooperates with the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) in the field of using drones and artificial intelligence in clearing territories from mines, technical director of RPS Energy Ltd. David Denman told reporters during a briefing, Report informs.
“We are cooperating with ANAMA in the use of RAMS (Remote Aerial Minefield Survey) technology using drones and artificial intelligence. We have worked in many countries in this direction. However, the area of mine-contaminated territories in Azerbaijan is huge. The contamination here is not limited to conventional mines, we also detect booby traps,” said David Denman.
He noted that the main goal of the demining work is the safe return of former internally displaced persons to their homes as part of the Great Return program.
“Also, mine clearance work will help stop the deaths of both military and civilians,” Denman added.
