Turkey approves troop deployment to Azerbaijan

Resmi Gazete (Legal Gazette) has published the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) decision to deploy Turkish troops to Azerbaijan.

According to Report, the introductory part of the decision states that Turkey will send military forces to Azerbaijan under the "Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Mutual Assistance between Turkey and Azerbaijan" signed between them on August 16, 2010.

The decision said that the friendly and brotherly country has been fighting for the liberation of Azerbaijan's occupied territories for many years.

"Azerbaijan has made significant progress in liberating the occupied territories due to counter-offensive operations launched on September 27, using the right to self-defense," he said.

According to the decision, the Turkish military will operate at the Russian-Turkish Joint Monitoring Center in Nagorno-Karabakh for one year.
