The working group on clearing mines and unexploded ordnance held an ordinary meeting of the Interdepartmental Center, functioning under the coordination headquarters, created for the centralized resolution of issues in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Report informs that the meeting was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, the Presidential Administration, the Foreign Ministry, the Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the Ministries of Economy, Emergencies, and the State Border Service.
Information was provided on the work on clearing territories from mines and unexploded ordnance, as well as on the machinery and equipment involved in the operations, in accordance with the plan drawn up by the relevant structures.
According to ANAMA, from November 10, 2020, to October 28, 2021, 5,917 hectares of territory were cleared, 26,931 mines and unexploded ordnance were found.
In October 2021, 381,130 hectares were cleared, 1,846 mines and unexploded ordnance were found and neutralized.
By the order of Azerenerji OJSC, the territories along which the power lines in Agdam pass and the sown areas in Gubadli District were completely cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance. Under these two projects, an area with a total area of 1,020 hectares was cleared.
According to the information provided on the demining work, carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, until October 28, 2021, a total area of 1,161,632 square meters was cleared in Agdam and Fuzuli districts, and 3,490 mines and unexploded ordnance were found. Some 33 sappers of the Emergencies Ministry were involved in the demining of the territory.
According to the information provided on the demining work, carried out by the State Border Service, during October, 25 hectares of territory were demined, 40 mines and unexploded ordnance were found. From November 2020 to October 28, 2021, 312 hectares of territory were cleared of unexploded ordnance and 3,058 mines were found and rendered harmless.
