Russian expert: Terrorists must be brought to account

"We did not expect that Shusha is located so high in the mountains. We were really like floating above the sky. We could see Khankandi and Khojaly from there," famous Russian political expert Sergei Markov told Report.

He said the terrorist attack committed by an Armenian terrorist right ahead of the visit of the conference participants became an unpleasant surprise.

"At first, we didn't get the situation quite well, but then it turned out that it happened right on the road we passed. We were not allowed to stop for security reasons. Terrorists must be brought to account and handed over to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, or Russia's General Prosecutor's Office because the terrorist attack was committed on the territory temporarily controlled by Russian peacekeepers. Fortunately, none of the peacekeepers suffered, though they were meters away from the explosion," Markov said.
