Relatives of Azerbaijani servicemen detained in Armenia appeal to European Court

The relatives of the Azerbaijani servicemen who lost their way and ended up in the territory of a neighboring country and were detained in Armenia appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with a demand to oblige its authorities to ensure the safety of the servicemen and provide them with medical assistance.

Report informs that after the video and photo materials featuring facts of violence against the Azerbaijani serviceman were circulated in media, the relatives of Huseyn Akhundov and Agshin Babirov appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with a demand to apply interim measures against Armenia.

The appeal calls on the court to immediately oblige the Armenian authorities to ensure the safety of Azerbaijani servicemen and provide them with medical assistance, as well as provide information about their whereabouts, conditions of detention and health status.
