Rada Committee chairman: Azerbaijan paves way to dynamic development by restoring its territorial integrity

The creation and strengthening of the Zangazur corridor in line with international agreements will meet the interests and benefit all countries of the region, Mykita Poturayev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and member of the 'Servant of the People' ruling party of Ukraine told Report's Eastern European bureau.

He noted that the expansion of logistic and economic ties between Asia and Europe through the Caucasus also meets the interests of the two macroregions.

"Because it will strengthen global economic ties and will be profitable not only for the countries that benefit directly from the creation of the corridor but also all those countries that are interested in the peaceful and stable development and the economic growth of the whole of Eurasia. I think the security issues must be ensured by the countries bordering the corridor. Maybe, with the participation of Turkey and Russia, as the guarantors of the peace agreement. As for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, I am sure that Azerbaijan will prove to its neighbors and the whole world that it has paved the way to dynamic economic development by restoring its territorial integrity. In this sense, the Zangazur corridor can be one of the most important factors," the committee chairman added.
