Presidential rep: Reconstruction in East Zangazur, Karabakh continues with focus on modern urban planning trends

The reconstruction of the liberated territories of East Zangezur and Karabakh is progressing with a focus on modern urban planning trends, prioritizing sustainability, inclusivity, and safety, Vahid Hajiyev, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, said at the 29th high-level meeting "Pathway to COP29: Sustainable and Resilient Future" held in Zangilan, Report informs.

Hajiyev cited the smart village of Zangilan as a prime example of sustainable development: "This village was built with sustainable development goals in mind. Today, 175 families reside in Aghali, with a total population reaching 871 people."

According to Hajiyev, the reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories extensively utilize thermal insulation materials in construction: "Solar panels have been installed on the roofs of houses for water heating purposes. Administrative buildings are also equipped with solar panels to harness clean energy."
