President's Special Representative says historical center of Aghdam to be preserved as open-air museum

The design of the Museum of Victory, planned to be constructed in the historical center of the city of Aghdam, will be developed by Italian specialists, Emin Huseynov, a special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the de-occupied part of the Aghdam region, including the city of Aghdam, said.

Report quotes him as saying the historical center of Aghdam will be preserved as an open-air museum.

"The open-air museum will preserve the ruins of the Aghdam theater and Central City Library. The Museum of Occupation, the Memorial Park, and the Museum of Victory will be built here. One room in the Museum of Occupation will be equipped with audio and video effects featuring the Khojaly tragedy. The cold temperature will be maintained in the premises so that the visitors could feel what Khojaly residents went through that night."

Huseynov said that an artificial lake would be created near the ruins to bring the terrors of war to the visitors.

"In the Museum of Occupation, the guests will familiarize themselves with the initial period of the occupation of Aghdam, and then in the memorial park, they will see the examples of the Armenian atrocities in the period of occupation. In the Museum of Victory, the visitors will see the heroism of our soldiers during the Patriotic war, the geographic models and schemes of military operations. A special board will be established in the Museum of Victory to perpetuate the memory of our heroes who were martyred in the Patriotic War."
