President: Armenia should recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity

"I am absolutely sure that the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia is possible," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during the videoconference discussions of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center "South Caucasus: Prospects for Regional Development and Cooperation."

According to Report, Ilham Aliyev noted that what is missing now is the political will from Armenian side.

"I think that today if somebody in Armenia would talk about peace agreement with Azerbaijan, it will not add popularity to that person. But again leaders of the country should think about the state, should not think about their political career," the President said.

He noted that the peace treaty presumes the recognition of territorial integrity.

The President noted that Azerbaijan is ready to recognize publicly the territorial integrity of Armenia and certainly, on its part, Armenia should recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in its international borders.

"Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijan and there is no doubt about that. It was during the time of occupation and it is now. And it will be that forever. Therefore, they should put down all their attempts to talk about status of Nagorno Karabakh. It is not a question which can be discussed," the President said.
