The Centre for Social Research (CSR) once again conducted a public opinion poll on the military operations conducted by Azerbaijan against illegal Armenian armed groups in its territory in August 2022, its military-political nature, and the level of awareness about it.
A total of 384 respondents from the economic regions of Baku, Absheron-Khizi, Mountainous Shirvan, Ganja-Dashkasan, Gazakh-Tovuz, Lankaran-Astara, Guba-Khachmaz, Sheki-Zagatala, Karabakh, Central Aran, Mil-Mughan, Shirvan-Salyan were interviewed as part of the poll.
A telephone interview method was used in conducting the inquiry. Based on the number of respondents, the margin of error of the results was 5% in the 95% confidence interval.
The respondents' positions were studied within the framework of assessing the military-political nature of the military operations conducted by Azerbaijan against the illegal Armenian armed groups in Karabakh. According to the descriptive analysis of the survey results in this direction, approximately half of the respondents (49.2%) believe that military operations are the main guarantee of the withdrawal of Armenian terrorists from Karabakh.
17.2% of the respondents characterized the military operations as an indicator of the presence of only one national army on the territory of Azerbaijan. The indicator of those who think that Azerbaijan forced Armenia to peace with military operations was 13.3%.
Approximately one in five respondents (22.4%) connected the military-political nature of the military operations in Karabakh with other points.
15.9% of the respondents found it difficult to express their position on this question.
According to the poll results, the respondents expressed their support for continuation of military operations by Azerbaijan if Armenia fails to comply with the terms of the joint statement dated November 10. So, the absolute majority of the respondents - 80.5% - think that Azerbaijan should continue military operations. 84.1% of the respondents who saw the military operations as the main guarantee of the withdrawal of Armenian terrorists from Karabakh supported the continuation of these operations.
The statistical analysis of the results from the gender perspective suggests that men, compared to women, want Azerbaijan to continue its military operations against illegal Armenian armed groups in its territory.
Respondents who took the opposite position (6.8%), as well as those who had difficulty answering this question (12.8%), mainly attributed their position to the fact that they do not want losses.
