"Peace in Nagorno Karabakh can be achieved only if large forces are interested and do not prevent the process," Israeli political scientist, Professor at Georgetown University Brenda Shaffer told Report commenting on the expected meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
According to her, the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is impossible only by changing the negotiation format.
"These meetings are regular. Peace in Nagorno-Karabakh can come only if major forces are interested and do not prevent the process. And when Armenia decides to make territorial compromises. The world is not about poetry and handshakes - specific changes need to be made," she said.
She also noted that the upcoming meeting does not portend any breakthrough in the process of resolving the conflict, which has lasted for more than 30 years.
