UNDP is pleased to be part of the mine clearing project for the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Acting Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Azerbaijan Nuno Queiroz told reporters in Shusha, Report informs.
He noted that thanks to the financial support of the EU for 4.25 million euros, more than 33,000 families will benefit from the project “Supporting the Safe Return of Internally Displaced People Through the Capacity Building of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).”
“It is our common obligation to work together for the return of internally displaced persons here,” said Nuno Queiroz.
He also said that the women’s demining team planned under the project will be the first in Azerbaijan and one of the first in the world.
