Musayev: Responsibility for attacks on civilian population of Azerbaijan lies with Armenian gov't

The responsibility for the attacks on Azerbaijan's civilian population, the civilians' death and injury lies entirely with the government of Armenia, Javid Musayev, head of the communication policy sector of the Presidential Administration, said at an event dedicated to the second anniversary of the rocket attacks on Ganja, Report informs.

According to him, Azerbaijan responded to Armenia for what it had done on the battlefield.

Javid Musayev added that from the first days of the war, Armenia also waged it against Azerbaijan in the information field, spreading disinformation and fake news: "Therefore, Azerbaijan had to fight not only on the battlefield, but also in the information space. For this, Azerbaijan opened its doors to representatives of all international media, so that they could find out the truth. During the war, the President of Azerbaijan gave interviews to international media, published information on Twitter."

Javid Musayev noted that today Azerbaijan is working to restore the liberated territories. He called on foreign diplomats who arrived in Ganja today to share the whole truth about the consequences of rocket attacks on this city with their countries.

Two years have passed since the city of Ganja was subjected to the fifth missile attack by Armenian armed forces during the Second Karabakh War. At around 1 a.m. on October 17, 2020, the SCUD/Elbrus ballistic missiles were treacherously fired into the peacefully sleeping district of Javadkhan in the center of Azerbaijan’s second largest city of Ganja, which is located far from the combat zone.

As a result of the shelling, 15 people were killed, more than 55 civilians were injured, and significant damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles.
