Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan, Sergey Lavrov and Elmar Mammadyarov are discussing the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and bilateral issues at a meeting in Baku, Report informs, citing the RIA Novosti.
Opening the meeting, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister emphasized that he intends to discuss with his Russian counterpart the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and issues of bilateral relations, including economic ones.
For his part, Lavrov emphasized that the economy is the foundation of relations between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan.
"Trade is growing rapidly, I think this year we will reach $3 billion in commodity turnover. Russian investments in Azerbaijan accounted for $1.5 billion, Azerbaijani investments in Russia are also very, very significant," the Russian minister said.
