Israeli Ambassador: We value our friendship with Azerbaijan

"We as Israelis know far too well the terrible consequences of war and attacks, especially when there are attacks on the lives of innocent civilians. Attacks on civilians, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, or faith, are wrong and unacceptable—every victim matters."

Report informs, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek told journalists during his visit to Ganja, which was subjected to rocket fire by Armenian Armed Forces.

"I came here to meet the people of Ganja for the first time. I came here to see terrible destruction after rocket attacks. I came here to express my condolences to the people of Azerbaijan and the residents of Ganja, to express my condolences to the families of the victims, and wish the speedy recovery for all those who are injured. I have met some of the victims earlier today, and I will meet some of them later. Some of their stories were absolutely heartbreaking. It is unacceptable. Nobody should live under such circumstances, and nobody should lose a loved one, a friend, or a neighbor while sleeping at night," - Ambassador said.

The diplomat also spoke about Israel's relations with Azerbaijan: "Our relationship with Azerbaijan is a relationship of friendship that is rooted in deep history and expressed in a wide scope of cooperation. This friendship is not aimed against anyone else. We value our friendship with Azerbaijan, and as part of friendship, I came here, and today we brought humanitarian relief assistance to the victims. So they can go through harsh winter and have some relief in these difficult times. Once again, I want to thank the government of Azerbaijan and the governor of Ganja for receiving me, and I wish to convey my deep, deep condolences to the victims, to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those who are injured and express my sympathy and condolences to all of the people of Azerbaijan. Allah rəhmət eləsin."
