ISESCO chief: Shusha-capital of culture

In the post-conflict period, it is necessary to create more favorable conditions for development, ISESCO Director General Salim Mohammed AlMalik told the opening of an international conference 'Advancing Post-Conflict Humanitarian Agenda: Sustainable development through revitalization of cultural environment' in Shusha.

"In the post-conflict period, when all military actions stopped, it was necessary to assist creation and development of peace in the region," the ISESCO chief said.

He noted that Shusha is the capital of culture, a home city of the renowned Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayov and mugham.

Salim Mohammed AlMalik stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic created new humanitarian problems and crises: "And we must apply international experience to resist these challenges and take into account all the country's peculiarities while applying it."
