Ilham Aliyev: 'We came back to live here and to live here forever'

“Now, we are back, we came back by force, we came back using international law norms, and we came back to live here and to live here forever,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the opening of the First Azerbaijan National Urban Forum in Aghdam, Report informs.

The head of state said that before the First Karabakh War, Aghdam, the biggest city in Karabakh, was full of life.

He noted that after its liberation, many foreign experts and journalists called the city a victim of urbicide, ghost city and Caucasian Hiroshima.

But unlike Hiroshina, the devastation and destruction of Aghdam was the result of vandalism and barbarism of Azerbaijan's neighbors, the head of state said.

He noted that the construction of a residential house has already started in Aghdam, three villages are being restored and several thousand people will live there in two years.

"We will rebuild Karabakh and Zangazur," the head of state said.

"No matter how expensive and costly it will be, this is our national idea. Our national idea before was to return to our land, to restore the justice and to restore our territorial integrity," he noted.
