ICESCO delegation visits liberated Fuzuli region

A delegation led by the Director-General of the Islamic World Organization for Science, Education, and Culture (ICESCO) Salim bin Mohammed Al-Maliki toured the Fuzuli region of Azerbaijan as part of a visit to the liberated territories.

The ICESCO delegation first inspected the ruins of Fuzuli and saw traces of Armenian vandalism in the city cemetery. Armenians removed marble tombstones and destroyed some graves.

During the inspection of the remains of the damaged Juma Mosque in the city, it became clear that the Armenians kept cattle and pigs here, as in other mosques. The delegation members said that such insults and destruction of Islamic religious monuments are incompatible with humanity.

The ICESCO delegation attended the ancient caravanserai and the remains of a 17th-century mosque in the village of Gargabazari, as well as the ruins of a destroyed mosque in Gochahmedli, and witnessed the atrocities committed by Armenians.

The visit of the delegation to the liberated territories continues.

The delegation led by Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik is accompanied by Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Anar Karimov, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to ICESCO Ogtay Gurbanov, Secretary-General of the National Commission for ICESCO, Head of the Ministry of Culture Vasif Eyvazzadeh and Head of Foreign Cooperation Isa Mammadov.
