Hikmat Hajiyev says hospitals in several Azerbaijani regions vacated to receive patients from Khankandi

Since yesterday hospitals in Aghdam, Sabirabad and Saatly regions of Azerbaijan vacated to receive substantial number of patients from Khankandi and these hospitals were reinforced with additional medical staff, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said on the social network X, according to Report.

He noted that regular contact is maintained with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and also directly with representatives of the Armenian residents of Karabakh to be responsive to humanitarian needs on the ground.

"Medicines and other medical stuff, specially to treat burns have been sent. Additionally, food aid was also delivered. It will be continued today and following days as well," he said.

Also a helicopter with medical team was ensured access from Armenia to Karabakh to take the persons in need of medical support and provide medical care on the ground.

"We are currently working on providing ICRC with exceptional access through Gorus-Gafan-Eyvazli-Fuzuli-Shusha-Khankandi road for medical evacuations and aid delivery," Hikmat Hajiyev said.
