Hajiyev: Peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan to allow transforming South Caucasus region

Now Azerbaijan is looking to the future, because the Karabakh conflict is resolved. Baku is ready for negotiations to reach a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev, speaking at the panel session “South Caucasus: Regional Development and Prospective for Cooperation” within VIII Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

Hajiyev reminded the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the opening of the forum, at which he repeated the proposal to start negotiations on reaching a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Azerbaijan’s proposals are on the table. According to Azerbaijan’s expectations, the achievement of a peace treaty will contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The peace treaty will allow transforming the South Caucasus region as a whole, Hajiyev said.
