The Azerbaijani government has correctly identified the necessary elements for the ‘Great Return’ to be sustainable, representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Azerbaijan, Guido Ambroso, said at the first Azerbaijan National Urban Forum, Report informs.
He noted that one of the tasks of the government embarking on the implementation of the ‘Great Return’ program will be not only the huge work regarding mine clearance and restoration of territories, but also the creation of an urban center that will become attractive to young people.
“I know that this is one of the goals of the Aghdam Plan,” he said.
The UNHCR representative also spoke about the internally displaced persons of Azerbaijan since the first Karabakh war and the conditions in which they had to live all these years.
