Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli city has become a member of the international non-governmental organization “Mayors for Peace” (an international organization of cities dedicated to promoting peace) registered in the UN, the Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan told Report.
Fuzuli became the tenth city of Azerbaijan admitted to this organization.
Agdam, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Khojaly, Zangilan, Shusha, Kalbajar, Khojavend, and Lachin joined the initiative in 2016.
The “Mayors for Peace” campaign was established in 1982 by the then Mayor of the Japanese city of Hiroshima, Takeshi Araki.
