Foundation director: Many monuments of Karabakh cultural heritage destroyed

Many monuments of the cultural heritage of Karabakh were destroyed, Director General of the Wisdom Foundation Zeenat Shaukatali told Report.

She noted that the international conference “Advancing Post-Conflict Humanitarian Agenda: Sustainable development through revitalization of cultural environment” taking place in Shusha is unique and important in terms of preserving and restoring the cultural heritage in this region.

“The cultural monuments in these territories were destroyed. These are places of cultural heritage that are historical, and it is necessary and very important to preserve it,” Shaukatali said.

The director of the foundation also emphasized the danger of mine contamination of the liberated territories: “Mines bring death with them. So why are they allowed at all?! There should be a law from the UN that punishes the use of mines. You can’t just plant mines wherever you want, it’s uncivilized.”
