Expert: Azerbaijan should immediately react to shelling from Armenian side

Yerevan’s violation of the ceasefire regime on the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border is a planned campaign aimed at inciting a new war, and the reaction to such a thing should be immediate, Russian political scientist Yevgeny Mikhailov told Report.

"In my opinion, the incident with the shelling of an Azerbaijani post in the Gazakh district should be assessed by the international participants in the peacekeeping process, that is, Russia and Turkey," he said.

The expert suggested that apparently, there are high-ranking officials in Armenia’s armed forces who don’t like the processes launched after the signing of the agreement on the cessation of hostilities.

"They are trying to discredit Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is making efforts to bring a peaceful life to the country. In any case, it is necessary to toughly stop the current conflict situation and demand explanations and apologies from Yerevan," he concluded.
