It is necessary to eliminate the mine threat to ensure the safe return of people to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Dzhoomart Otorbaev told reporters in Agdam, Report informs.
"I came to Karabakh to express my affection for the fraternal people of Azerbaijan. I am for the restoration of peace in the region," Otorbayev said.
He noted the importance of including combating mine pollution in the list of Azerbaijan's national priorities.
"The figures that were announced today at the second international humanitarian conference on demining in Aghdam are shocking. The government of the country is aiming to restore this territory, and in order to return people here, it is necessary to ensure security and completely clear the territory of mines. This is a lesson that such practices should not be allowed anywhere in the world," the ex-premier of Kyrgyzstan added.
