Mines and unexploded ordnance are one of the main problems for Azerbaijan in the restoration of its liberated territories, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district), Emin Huseynov, said at the 2nd International Conference on “Mine Action – the Path to Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals”, Report informs.
According to him, besides the demining process, ANAMA is also engaged in educating the population living near the liberated areas about the dangers and precautions related to mines.
"After the end of the 44-day war in 2020, a lot of work has been done regarding mine clearance and reconstruction of the liberated areas, including the restoration of transport links," Huseynov said.
He gave information about the work carried out in those areas, including the construction of airports, residential complexes, schools, and other infrastructure.
