The government of Azerbaijan pays great attention to energy efficiency issues in the restoration of cities in the liberated territories, Emin Huseynov, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, said on September 30 during a panel discussion at the Baku Climate Action Week, Report informs.
"New residential and administrative buildings in the liberated territories will meet the highest standards of 'green' construction. Solar panels, energy-efficient materials, and intelligent energy supply systems will be implemented there from scratch," he noted.
Huseynov added that the liberated territories have great potential for creating a modern, sustainable, and stable urban environment. The modern settlements built there will serve as an example not only for the region but also for the whole world, he added.
"Urban sustainability is central to planning. This aligns with the goals of Azerbaijan's multi-sectoral action plan for COP29 presidency to create sustainable and healthy cities," he said.
