CAST: Armenian servicemen shot down their planes in war

During the 44-day Azerbaijan-Armenia war, four Su-25 fighter jets and a helicopter belonging to the Armenian Air Force were shot down by the country's air defense forces, the analytical collection "Storm over the Caucasus", edited by Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Center for Strategy and Technology Analysis (CAST), one of Russia's leading think tanks.

Report informs, citing Armenian media, that it analyzes the 44-day military operation in Karabakh.

CAST sources claim that the Armenian Air Force has struck the country's air defense forces.

The coordination between the Armenian Air and Air Defense Forces was weak. The country's military shot down four Armenian Su-25 attack aircraft and a Mi-8 helicopter. Two of the Su-25 planes were destroyed over Vardenis and one - while returning from a combat mission in Karabakh.
