The Lachin road is open for humanitarian actions of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Netherlands Rahman Mustafayev wrote on X, according to Report.
Responding to a post of Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra, the Azerbaijani diplomat noted that it was the Armenian side which rejected the proposal on the parallel delivery of cargoes to Khankandi through the Lachin and Aghdam routes as it is willing to ignite tension with a view to continuing manipulation and misleading at the international level.
The ambassador also noted that Armenia doesn't respect Articles 4 and 9 of the tripartite statement, requiring "the full withdrawal of Armenian armed forces" from Garabagh and saying that "Armenia guarantees the safety of transport links between western regions of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan region." He added that Nakhchivan has been in blockade since 1991.
"I strongly believe that as a victim of military aggression and 30-year long occupation (as confirmed by 4 UNSC resolutions of 1993), which resulted in unprecedented destruction and mine-laying, Azerbaijan can count on balanced position of The Hague, the capital of justice and international law," the ambassador wrote.
